Description

What the CPR, AED and First Aid course covers

This is the longer of CPR1’s two core classes. The ABR, CPR1 pages all describe the same content: CPR and choking relief for adults, children and infants, how to use an AED, how to use barrier devices, and general first aid. The first aid part covers medical emergencies, injury emergencies and environmental emergencies, so the group learns what to do in the first minutes before professional help arrives. The class runs approximately five hours.

Who should book it

The course is designed for businesses that need to satisfy OSHA workplace safety requirements, plus schools, healthcare facilities and community organisations. It is the right choice when your team needs first aid skills as well as CPR, or when you want a single certification rather than two separate ones. Groups are booked in five sizes: up to 10, 12, 15, 20 or 25 people.

What each participant receives

On completion, each person gets a two-year digital certification issued through HSI (Health and Safety Institute) that covers both CPR/AED and First Aid. The listing and CPR1 page also list a CPR/AED quick reference card and a CPR keychain pocket mask for every participant.

Who delivers the training

CPR1 is described on all three pages as part of the AED Leader family. Its instructors are certified and many have real-world fire, EMS and healthcare experience. The class is hands-on, with practice on manikins and AED trainers rather than lecture only.

CPR, AED and First Aid certification cost in 2026

At CPR1 the course costs $850 for up to 10 participants and rises in steps to $1,882 for up to 25 (checked 19 October 2026). CPR1 lists the same prices. The ABR FAQ states that larger groups should contact CPR1 for custom pricing and scheduling.

CPR/AED only or the combined course?

The three-hour CPR & AED class costs $785 for up to 10 people. For $65 more at the 10-person tier, this combined course adds roughly two hours of first aid and a single card that covers both. If any of your staff act as designated first aiders, the combined course is usually the better fit. Add-on classes such as Stop the Bleed and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens can be booked alongside it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this course and the CPR & AED class?

The CPR, AED & First Aid course is about five hours and includes everything in the three-hour CPR & AED class plus first aid for medical, injury and environmental emergencies. It results in one certification covering both skill sets. The shorter class is cheaper, starting at $785 instead of $850.

What certification do participants receive?

Participants receive a two-year digital certification through HSI (Health and Safety Institute) that covers CPR/AED and First Aid. According to the ABR and CPR1 pages, each person also gets a CPR/AED quick reference card and a CPR keychain pocket mask to keep after the class.

Does the course meet OSHA requirements for workplace first aid?

The course satisfies OSHA workplace and regulatory requirements for employee safety training. OSHA rules differ by industry and state, so confirm the standard that applies to your site. The listing links to a state-by-state CPR/AED legislation guide for reference.
