The same FRx for $875
Recertified units are the same model under the same FDA premarket approval, restored and tested before resale. The device that stops a cardiac arrest does not care what you paid for it.
- Same device, same approval. A recertified FRx carries the same FDA premarket approval as the new unit. It is not a clone and not a downgrade.
- Minimum three year warranty, guaranteed. Most resellers give one year or less on a refurbished AED.
- Free shipping on orders above $199 in the contiguous United States.
- $1,224 back in your budget covers roughly 13 sets of replacement pads, which is the part that actually expires.
The honest risk. A recertified AED is a used device. That is why the three year warranty matters more than the price. If the warranty were one year we would not recommend it.

Read on 1 October 2026 (Cardiac Life and AEDLand could not be read and keep their 19 September 2026 price). The bare FRx was $2,099 at every seller we read on 19 September 2026, so the column that matters is the gap between the package and $2,099.

The pediatric maths nobody shows you
This is where the FRx quietly wins. The OnSite needs a separate pediatric pad cartridge, a consumable that expires and must be repurchased. The FRx uses a reusable Infant/Child Key, bought once at about $139, which reconfigures the same adult pads and adapts the CPR coaching for a child. Over a ten year life that difference is most of why the FRx costs about $40 less to feed than the cheaper OnSite.
Why first responders buy this one
- FRx pads plug into advanced defibrillators from Philips, so the hand-off to EMS does not require re-padding the patient
- Life Guidance gives instructions and audio cues for the number, rate and depth of compressions, and adapts to infant and child guidance when the key is inserted
- The device reminds the rescuer to confirm EMS has been called
- Eight year manufacturer warranty, FDA approved under premarket approval PMA P180028
Our verdict
Buy the FRx where children are present and the environment is rough. Buy the OnSite package if the setting is an office or a home and nobody wants to deal with a prescription. If you are simply looking for the cheapest complete package, neither is it: that is the HeartSine 350P at $1,463.80.

Frequently asked questions
$2,062.80 to $2,161.80 at both AED Leader and Response Ready, verified 30 September 2026. The bare device is $2,099.00 to $2,199.00, so the package costs $36.20 LESS than the device alone.
Buy the FRx if children may be treated or the environment is rough; its reusable Infant/Child Key costs about $139 once instead of a repeating pediatric pad cartridge. Buy the OnSite if the setting is an office or home and you would rather avoid the prescription requirement.
Yes. Unlike the adult OnSite, the FRx is a prescription device in the United States. Several sellers include a free physician authorisation with the purchase.
About $854 over ten years, about $40 less than the OnSite ($894); of the models we track, only the Powerheart G5 and the OnSite cost more. Philips consumables are the main running cost in this family.
Because there are three carry-case configurations at AED Leader and Response Ready: standard case $2,062.80, standard case with spare adult pads $2,112.80, waterproof Pelican case $2,161.80. Each is $36.20 to $37.20 under the same configuration of the bare device. Ask the seller to state the case configuration before you compare two quotes.
