The Uni-padz argument
Most other AEDs here need a separate pediatric part: the Philips FRx a reusable Infant/Child Key, the Philips OnSite a separate cartridge, the ZOLL AED Plus Pedi-padz II at $155, Defibtech and HeartSine separate pediatric pads. The LIFEPAK CR2 shares the AED 3 approach with a child-mode button on the same pads. The AED 3 uses CPR Uni-padz, one electrode set for both. If you run more than a handful of devices, that is one fewer part number, one fewer expiry date and one fewer way for a device to be found non-compliant during an audit.
