Key facts (checked 9 October 2026)

01 How much does the Powerheart G5 value package cost in 2026?

Quick answer: On 9 October 2026 the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 value package cost $2,219.70 with the carry sleeve and $2,360.70 with the semi-rigid case. Semi-automatic and fully automatic cost the same, and Response Ready matches AED Leader on all four.

There are four configurations: two shock modes times two cases. Every one ships with iCPR pads, the pads that coach compression rate and depth during CPR.

Fully automatic (auto shock)Carry sleeve$2,219.70

Prices read from the AED Leader and Response Ready store listings on 9 October 2026. The store listing is the final price.
Not sure which shock mode fits your site? Fully automatic removes the decision to press a button; semi-automatic lets a trained rescuer control the moment of the shock. The price is the same, so choose on your responders, not on cost: see semi vs fully automatic AED.

02 What comes in the Powerheart G5 value package?

Quick answer: The package adds three things the G5-only listing does not have: a wall cabinet, a 3-way AED sign and a wall poster. Everything else, including the carry case, first responder kit and 8-year warranty, comes with the G5 on its own too.

Item lists copied from the “What’s included” section of each AED Leader listing on 9 October 2026. The first responder kit holds two towelettes, scissors, a razor, nitrile gloves and a pocket CPR mask in a zip pouch. The package listing does not name the cabinet model.

03 Is the G5 package worth $62.70 more than the G5 alone?

Quick answer: Yes, if the AED will hang on a wall. A G5 ($2,157) plus AED Leader’s cheapest standalone wall cabinet ($135.15) costs $2,292.15, so the package saves $72.45 and adds a sign and a poster. If the AED will live in a vehicle or a bag, buy the G5 alone and keep the $62.70.

The cabinet math

G5 alone $2,157 + non-alarmed wall cabinet $135.15 = $2,292.15. Value package $2,219.70. Difference: $72.45 in the package’s favor, before counting the sign and poster.

Two things to know before you choose:

  • The semi-rigid case is not discounted. It adds $141 to the package, exactly the price of the Cardiac Science premium carry case sold on its own. Take it only if the unit travels.
  • Alarmed cabinets cost more. AED Leader sells wall cabinets from $135.15 (no alarm) to $177.65 (alarm and strobe). If you want an alarm that sounds when the door opens, confirm with the store which cabinet ships in the package. Mounting rules are in our AED cabinet mounting guide.

04 What does a Powerheart G5 cost over 10 years?

Quick answer: About $3,562 for the value package over 10 years with standard Intellisense pads, or $4,338 if you keep buying iCPR pads. Pads are the part that drives the gap: the G5’s adult pads carry a 2-year shelf life.

Our assumptions, so you can check the math: adult pads replaced every 2 years (2-year shelf life), so 4 sets in years 2, 4, 6 and 8. Battery replaced every 4 years (4-year performance guarantee), so 2 batteries in years 4 and 8. Prices are today’s store prices and will change.

Recertified G5, standard pads, no cabinet$1,225$352$990$2,567
Pads, battery and AED prices read from AED Leader on 9 October 2026. Standard adult Intellisense pads do not give CPR feedback; iCPR pads do. A recertified unit’s battery age varies, so ask the seller for the battery install date.

Child use adds one item: pediatric Intellisense pads at $127. They lower the delivered energy and switch the G5 to child prompts. For a side-by-side 10-year number across 15 AEDs, use our AED cost calculator or the 10-year AED cost table.
